Alpha Technologies has announced the End of Life (EOL) plan for the Series 2000 product line. Here’s what it means for your lab, the key dates to plan around, and how to move to the Premier line with confidence.
The Series 2000 line is currently in Phase 2 of Alpha’s Life Cycle Management Plan. Two dates matter most.
Service, preventive maintenance, calibration, consumables and spare parts are all available. Now is the best time to plan.
Spare parts become limited. Best efforts will be made for repairs and calibrations, but the supply of parts cannot be guaranteed.
Spare parts will likely be unavailable, and Alpha cannot guarantee service or calibration of Series 2000 instruments.
In 1988, Alpha Technologies launched the Series 2000 line of rheology instruments. Since then, the Berlin Wall has fallen and almost 40 countries have joined the United Nations. The Series 2000 line has been around longer than Google, Adobe Photoshop and the World Wide Web.
We are tremendously proud of this legacy class of rheology instruments. After so many years of faithful service, the Series 2000 line has well earned its retirement.
The Premier series offers superior performance, accuracy, automation, enhanced features and improved reliability compared to the Series 2000.
Maintaining support and spare parts for older models is increasingly challenging. Some parts are already obsolete, and many suppliers have warned of permanent obsolescence of key components.
The EOL plan lets Alpha focus its resources on supporting current instruments and future innovations.
The End of Life plan applies to all Series 2000 and older Alpha instruments.
Your Alpha sales or service representative can review your installed base with you and help you build an upgrade plan.
